It could have been the end of NASA had it failed, I mean in terms of funding. But\u00a0 I am so glad that \u00a0ingenuity<em> <\/em>won out over politics in the end. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nasa.gov\/mission_pages\/mars\/main\/index.html\" title=\"Mars Curiosity\" target=\"_blank\">Curiosity<\/a> is a not your average offroader. Nuclear-powered, its plutonium batteries provide enough grunt to keep it trundling around at a\u00a0leisurely very slow pace for maybe a decade or even two. During this time, it will have the opportunity to poke, prod and zap with its laser the complex suite of rocks in Gale Crater and maybe even to climb the mighty three-mile high Mount Aeolis (also known as Mount Sharp at NASA) which lies in its centre.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I thought this was awesome, a unbelievable landing and it all went like clockwork.
